Day 223 of 366: A Priceless Resource: Scholastic Book Wizard

One of my favorite resources for students, teachers, and families is the Scholastic Book Wizard. This site allows you to search for information on books. The results come up with reading level, genres, topics and other information. I tried the first book I saw when I glanced at my bookshelf: Charlie Bone and the Castle of Mirrors. I love this series. If I wanted to find more books of this style, I can click on the Book Alike link. This will find similar books to the one you had entered. You can even narrow the books by Grade Level, Guided Reading, Lexile and DRA levels.

A bonus item on the page is a collection of book lists. Today, the highlights are on Summer Camp Stories, Summer Olympics, or Books about Marine Life.

The next time you have children or students looking for a book just like the last one they read, have them check out Scholastic Book Wizard.
