Learning (Almost) Anything Online: A Quilt Story

I’ve finished my first crazy quilt. It turned out rather cute for a first try with a machine that wouldn’t let me adjust stitch length or tension. Also, my eight year old cut my squares… unevenly. But, it’s soft, comfy and my daughter loves it.

Now I have a new sewing machine and another set of evenly cut squares.

So, I need to ask real-life people for advice. I know that. But, it’s past bedtime, and I’m avoiding reading the news. So, I turn to the internet for tips.

I love the fact that I can find diverse resources from Quilting 101 to Makezine. I’m currently reading quilting tips from Wikihow.

We live in an era where you can learn (virtually) anything by finding resources online. This provides endless options for our students. Teachers do not have to be experts for students who do passion projects. They just need to help students to find the best resources and give them support.

Your Perspective: What have you learned from online resources?
