A Dozen Educators Discovering Photo Booth

Today I taught a TIES Intro to iPad class. This class is one of my favorites. Teachers come in apprehensive. Many have never touched an iPad before. I had five of my group today on a borrowed device. I had at least 4 who carried in a device still in its box. The TIES session is built to take participants step by step from learning what all the buttons mean to downloading their first app.

Some of the highlights of the course, where I know that I will need to surrender to the time it takes for teachers to play:

  • Voice Over: My iPad is reading to me! Oh, and it can do it in an Australian accent!
  • Adding Languages to the Keyboard: Emojis! That’s how my friends post those on Facebook.
  • Gestures: Four fingers to the what?
  • and…. Photo Booth.

Below is a Photo Booth shot of a dozen educators playing with Photo Booth for the first time. With this group, I had to just sit back and smile as they experimented with their new devices.
