Day 286 of 366: Demystifying Digital Publishing MEMO Presentation

Today was the second day of MEMO’s 2012 Fall Conference. As always, I am inspired and overwhelmed by the energy and ideas of my librarian and media specialist peers. Their passion for teaching students how to navigate in this world- both digitally and through literature- can not be measured.  I learned a lot today. More than that, though, I was able to connect in person with these people, many of whom I know digitally.

Speaking of digital, my presentation today was on the world of digital print.  Check out my presentation below. The room was full, and I think everyone came away with something. With such a smart group of educators in the crowd, that’s what one needs to strive towards.

Demystifying Digital Publishing
Are you lost in the world of digital file types? What’s the difference between a .pdf and an .epub file? What makes a iBook so powerful? Which devices read which formats? What if you want to publish on the web? What resources are available to publish digital work? What about copyright and ownership? This session works to demystify digital publications and answer these questions, and more! (Mobile Technologies)
