Girl Scout’s sales go viral

I read a story tonight on Fox that tells of a Girl Scout who had her sales go viral: Girl Scout’s Brutally Honest Reviews Lead to Sales Records

The Scout’s dad worked works on Mike Rowe’s podcast. At her dad’s suggestion, she sent him an email asking him to buy cookies. She focused on buying cookies for the military overseas but including her own, honest reviews.

When Girl Scout Charlotte McCourt began selling Girl Scout Cookies this year, her original goal was to match her 300 sales from last year.  Now, McCourt has not only passed the 300 mark, but has broken the Girl Scout’s sales record by selling more than 24,000 boxes so far.

What an amazing story. When news, videos, or stories go viral, the effects can be so negative. I love the positive stories where the world benefits. In this case, thousands of cookies will be headed to our troops.

If you’re looking to make a Girl Scout’s day in Minnesota, my own girl is selling. I love seeing her practice her business skills. She makes her mom proud! Email me at jen.m.legatt@gmail.com if you’re near the metro and looking for cookies.
