Before You Post: T.H.I.N.K.

I write an educational blog to help me reflect on my work and inspiration. With the plethora of news stories this week focused on social media and news, I could write a thousand political posts. I have had a train of ideas through my mind all day.

Instead, I am going to reflect on signs that I printed last year for our students. They encouraged students to T.H.I.N.K.  These are great suggestions for the grown-ups out there who are leading by example. The acronym is on motivational posters and graphics throughout the web. I wish that I could find out who to credit.

I will be printing another round of posters tomorrow.

T – Is it true?
H – Is it helpful?
I – Is it inspiring?
N – Is it necessary?
K – Is it kind?

Your Perspective: How do you guide students or adults in making wise social media (or just plain social) decisions?
