Finding “Fake” News….

I used to have some staples for Fake News stories. http://www.dhmo.org/facts.html and http://zapatopi.net/treeoctopus/ were two of my go-to sites. Students didn’t fall for the Tree Octopus long. Many, many fell for the DHMO one. My Facebook friends have just confirmed that college kids are still falling for DHMO.

I’m looking ahead to a presentation to adults. Many, many of the articles out there that are “fake” are either quickly accessed as satire— or are highly political in nature.

Tonight, I am starting to collect examples that are newer, non-political, and may fool an audience of adults. This will be a challenge…
