Elements of Change: Success or Failure

Tonight’s #mnlead chat discussed educational change, the leadership to make it happen, and the elements that make it successful. My favorite change theory comes from the American Productivity and Quality Center, reposted by Customerthink.com.

This image talks about the equations that lead to successful change and failed change.

The elements for a successful change are: Vision, Skills, Incentives, Resources, and an Action Plan.

I’ve seen various versions of these products in technology inititives that I’ve observed and those in which I have been involved.

Do the current initiatives in your school have these elements? If not, what is missing?  Are you facing Confusion, Anxiety, Gradual Change, Frustrations, or False Starts.
